By accessing or using Parallel ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Flannel People Mediation, LLC ("Flannel," "we," "us," or "our"), a Minnesota limited liability company.
Parallel is an AI-facilitated communication support tool designed to help co-parents structure conversations. It is operated by Flannel People Mediation, LLC and powered in part by Anthropic PBC's Claude AI API.
Parallel is not:
No professional relationship is created. Use of Parallel does not establish a therapist-client, mediator-client, attorney-client, counselor-client, or any other professional relationship with Flannel People Mediation, Ryan McLaughlin, or any associated party.
No confidentiality or privilege applies. Sessions are processed by an AI system (Anthropic PBC). No therapist-client privilege, mediator confidentiality, or attorney-client privilege attaches to any communication made through Parallel. Do not share information in Parallel sessions that you would not share in a non-privileged setting.
The facilitator in Parallel, "Quinn," is an artificial intelligence. It is not a human being. Quinn does not hold any professional license, certification, or credential. Its responses are generated by a large language model and may contain errors, omissions, or outputs that are not appropriate for your situation. Flannel People Mediation does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated output.
Sessions are processed via the Anthropic PBC API. By using Parallel, you consent to your session content being transmitted to Anthropic's systems for processing. Flannel People Mediation does not retain session transcripts beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Parallel. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older.
You may not use Parallel if:
Parallel is not appropriate for situations involving domestic violence or coercive control. If you are in an unsafe situation, do not use this product. Contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
Parallel is not a crisis service and is not equipped to provide emergency support. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal ideation, or self-harm ideation, stop using Parallel immediately and contact:
Flannel People Mediation assumes no liability for outcomes arising from the failure to seek appropriate professional help in a crisis situation.
Session outputs, AI responses, and any summaries generated by Parallel are not intended and should not be used as evidence in any legal proceeding, including but not limited to family court, custody proceedings, or divorce proceedings. Flannel People Mediation disclaims any responsibility for the use of session content in legal contexts.
Where applicable, sessions are purchased as one-time payments processed by Stripe, Inc. All sales are final. Access codes are non-transferable and expire 30 days from issuance. Flannel People Mediation reserves the right to modify pricing at any time. Beta pricing is offered at our discretion and may be discontinued without notice.
For the free demonstration version of Parallel, no payment is required. The demonstration version is provided for illustrative purposes only and may be discontinued or modified at any time.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT. FLANNEL PEOPLE MEDIATION DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME WILL RESULT FROM USE OF THE SERVICE.
Parallel is a beta product. Features, availability, and AI behavior may change without notice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FLANNEL PEOPLE MEDIATION, LLC, ITS PRINCIPALS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, LOSS OF RELATIONSHIP, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL FLANNEL PEOPLE MEDIATION'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC SESSION GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ZERO DOLLARS ($0) FOR SESSIONS PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Flannel People Mediation, LLC and its principals, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) any dispute between you and any other participant in a session.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a mutually agreed-upon arbitrator under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Hennepin County, Minnesota. You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Flannel People Mediation reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Parallel at any time, for any reason, without notice, including for violation of these Terms or conduct that we determine to be harmful to users, the Service, or third parties.
